摘要: Numerical analyses of the coupled vibrations of vehicle-bridge system and the effects of different types of cable stayed bridges on the coupled vibration responses have been presented in this paper using ANSYS. The bridge model and vehicle model were independently built which have no internal relationship in the ANSYS. The vehicle-bridge coupled vibration relationship was obtained by using the APDL program which subsequently imposed on the vehicle and bridge models during the numerical analysis. The proposed model was validated through a field measurements and literature data. The judging method, possibility, and criterion of the vehicle-bridge resonance (coupled vibrations) of cable stayed bridges (both the floating system and half floating system) under traffic flows were presented. The results indicated that the interval time between vehicles is the main influence factor on the resonance excitation frequency under the condition of equally spaced traffic flows. Compared to other types of cable stayed bridges, the floating bridge system has relatively high possibility to cause vehicle-bridge resonance.

Semi-active fuzzy control of Lali Cable-Stayed Bridge using MR dampers under seismic excitation

摘要: Seismic control of cable-stayed bridges is of paramount importance due to their complex dynamic behavior, high flexibility, and low structural damping. In the present study, several semi-active Fuzzy Control Algorithms (FCAs) for vibration mitigation of Lali Cable-Stayed Bridge are devised. To demonstrate the efficiency of the algorithms, a comprehensive nonlinear 3-D model of the bridge is created using OpenSees. An efficient method for connecting MATLAB and OpenSees is devised for applying FCAs to the structural model of the bridge. Two innovative fuzzy rule-bases are introduced. A total of six different fuzzy rule-bases are utilized. The efficiency of the FCAs is evaluated in a comparative manner. The performance of fuzzy control systems is also compared with a sky-hook and a passive-on system. Moreover, the sensitivity of efficiency of control systems to the peak ground acceleration is evaluated qualitatively. In addition, the effect of time lag is also investigated. This study thoroughly examines the efficiency of the FCAs in different aspects. Therefore, the results can be regarded as a general guide to design semi-active fuzzy control systems for vibration mitigation of cable-stayed bridges.

Design concept of the Twin River Bridges in Chongqing, China

摘要: The Dongshuimen Bridge over the Yangtze River and the Qiansimen Bridge over the Jialing River in Chongqing, China are located at the tip of the Yuzhong Peninsula. Together, they are called the Twin River Bridges. Both are double deck structures carrying four lanes of traffic on their upper decks and two transit tracks on their lower decks. The girders are steel truss structures with orthotropic plates and the towers are made of concrete. Aesthetics were carefully considered for the design of these bridges because of their visibility in the city and their neighboring landmarks.

Limit span of self-anchored cable-stayed suspension cooperation system bridge based on strength

摘要: The limit span of self-anchored cable-stayed suspension bridge is deduced. The relations among the geometrical parameters, loads and material characteristics are also analyzed. Based on the material strength and commonly used materials, the limit spans of self-anchored cable-stayed suspension bridges with concrete girder or steel girder under vertical static load are discussed in detail. The corresponding upper limit spans and the effect of the factors on the span are given. The results indicate that increasing rise-span ratio, height-span ratio and cable-stayed segment length or reducing the second dead load could increase the cooperation system span.

Thermal fluid-structure interaction and coupled thermal-stress analysis in a cable stayed bridge exposed

摘要: In this paper, thermal fluid structure-interaction (TFSI) and coupled thermal-stress analysis are utilized to identify the effects of transient and steady-state heat-transfer on the vortex induced vibration and fatigue of a segmental bridge deck due to fire incidents. Numerical simulations of TFSI models of the deck are dedicated to calculate the lift and drag forces in addition to determining the lock-in regions once using fluid-structure interaction (FSI) models and another using TFSI models. Vorticity and thermal convection fields of three fire scenarios are simulated and analyzed. Simiu and Scanlan benchmark is used to validate the TFSI models, where a good agreement was manifested between the two results. Extended finite element method (XFEM) is adopted to create 3D models of the cable stayed bridge to simulate the fatigue of the deck considering three fire scenarios. Choi and Shin benchmark is used to validate the damaged models of the deck in which a good coincide was seen between them. The results revealed that TFSI models and coupled thermal-stress models are significant in detecting earlier vortex induced vibration and lock-in regions in addition to predicting damages and fatigue of the deck due to fire incidents.

Damage identification of a large-span concrete cable-stayed bridge based on genetic algorithm

摘要: The global stability of a structure, the stiffness of its main girder and concrete tower, and the variation of the forces of its stay cables are key issues to the safety assessment of an in-service cable-stayed bridge. The efficiency and rationality of local elaborate non-damage-identification could be enhanced by the primary damage identification of cable-stayed bridges on the basis of periodic detection of the cable force and strain monitor in key sections of the main girder. The genetic algorithms of damage identification for cable-stayed bridges were investigated in this paper on the basis of the monitor data of the cable force and strain in a key section of the main girder. A damage detection program for complex civil structure was generated to implement the identification of damage location and extent. The deterioration of the structure was calculated according to the variation of monitor data. It is demonstrated that the results of damage identification from the parametric finite element method are accurate. The method had been verified using a long-span concrete cable-stayed bridge in Ningbo, which has been in use for the past four years.

介绍了苏通大桥在设计过程中专门对斜拉索进行的测力试验情况,并与国外相关研究成果进行了对比,提出了斜拉索纵桥向风荷载阻力系数计算公式。该研究填补了我国桥梁抗风设计规范的空白,已被纳入《公路桥梁抗风设计规范》(JTG/T D60-01-2004),具有很高的实际指导意义。

Seismic design of high-rise towers for cable-stayed bridges under strong earthquakes

摘要: This paper presents the first of a series of studies on the seismic design of high-rise towers for cable-stayed bridges under strong earthquakes. One practical cable-stayed bridge with a 730 m long main span and two high-rise towers over 200 m in height was selected for this study. The preliminary results show that compared with piers, the tower is more vulnerable to pulse-like earthquakes, and it may develop plasticity at certain locations. In addition, viscous dampers may not have the same effect during pulse-like earthquakes as they do under site-specific earthquakes. Hence, reoptimization of damper parameters or reconsideration of other energy dissipation devices will be needed if strong earthquakes are likely to occur.

摘要:

结合世界第二混合梁斜拉桥——主跨926 m的鄂东大桥,研究了大跨径混合梁斜拉桥中跨合龙方案的影响因素及关键技术,确定采用加载合龙方案。加载合龙方法具有较好的温度适应性,对成桥结构线形和受力影响很小,满足无应力施工控制方法的要求,适用于大跨径混合梁斜拉桥。研究成果及实践经验对同类型桥梁具有借鉴指导意义。

本研究基于斜拉桥和矮塔斜拉桥的拉索安全性评估,为比较斜拉桥和矮塔斜拉桥提供了新的观点。由于二者都使用拉索,人们通常认为这两种类型的桥梁具有相同的结构。但是,国际桥梁设计标准规定了二者各自的拉索安全系数。为了纠正这一误解,本研究通过考虑各种异常因素和破坏因素(如过载、钢索损耗和钢索腐蚀)的影响,对在疲劳和极限状态下的拉索的安全系数进行了比较。本研究的主要目的是解释两种类型桥梁之间的结构差异,并通过采用确定性和非确定性方法来评估其结构冗余。为了实现这一目标,根据日本现行的拉索设计指南,本文建立了两座桥的三维模型。在达到桥梁模型的平衡状态之后,以参数化方式对拉索的不同安全系数进行了静态分析。最后,采用一阶可靠性方法和蒙特卡洛方法确定了拉索的可靠性指标。分析结果表明,在相同的荷载条件下,斜拉桥和矮塔斜拉桥在不同安全系数下具有不同的结构冗余度。此外,随着拉索的安全系数的增加,其结构上的冗余大大增加。

千米级斜拉桥空间非线性合理恒载索力分析

摘要:

建立了斜拉桥索力调整的空间非线性有限元分析模型,以斜拉桥主梁和索塔的弯曲应变能为目标函数、结构应力及索力为约束条件,采用一阶最优化计算方法进行求解,用以确定成桥合理状态的索力。应用该法分析了某千米级斜拉桥的合理成桥状态,计算结果表明,该方法简单、有效。

特大跨度斜拉桥施工几何控制原理的数值验证

摘要:

以苏通长江大桥为研究对象,通过数值仿真分析验证了几何控制原理的正确性。通过对施工过程中临时荷载和环境温度对于结构线形影响的系统分析和研究结果表明,在考虑施工全过程几何非线性影响的条件下,临时荷载及环境温度等因素仅影响施工过程中的结构状态,基本不影响成桥的结构线形和内力状态,几何控制原理适用于超大斜拉桥施工控制,采用几何控制原理能够获得良好的施工控制结果。

The defect-length effect in corrosion detection with magnetic method for bridge cables

Quantitative evaluation of the steel corrosion in cables is significant for the safe operation of cable-supported bridges. The magnetic flux (MF) examination shows great potential to detect the corrosion defect, or loss of metallic cross-sectional area (LMA). An LMA defect in steel cables can be measured accurately when it is longer than a certain length. However, for defects in early stage, where the length of corrosion area is short, the MF examination may produce unacceptable error. In this study, the effect of defect length on the MF examination for corrosion detection of bridge cables is investigated through theoretical analysis and model experiments. An original analytical model to quantify the influence of defect length is proposed based on the equivalent magnetic circuit method. Then, MF examination experiments are performed on a series of cable models with different defect lengths and locations to verify the analytical model. Further, parameter study is conducted based on the proposed analytical model to clarify the mechanism of the defect-length effect. The results show that the area loss caused by short corrosion damage will be underestimated if the defect-length effect is neglected, and this effect can be quantified efficiently with the proposed analytical model.
